Preamble

Basically, UWODO is not profit oriented in the sense that there shall not be profit sharing among the members. Instead, any profits derived from income generated by development activities and from all other sources will be used for the development of social and economic services with the overall objective of alleviating poverty and arresting the decline in the living standards of the needy in the area. Also, the profits will be used to ensure the financial sustainability of the UWODO, for running the office, and for paying the minimum allowances while performing the UWODO duties.

Our Mission

To provide educational resources, leadership opportunities, and a national network to support marginalized groups like orphans, the disabled, women, and the elderly in developing entrepreneurial projects.

Our Vision

UWODO is envisaging of having self determination, empowerment, and community development for the whole community.

Our Objectives

  1. To empower people with disabilities with the necessary skills and knowledge for independent living and advance their full participation in the community.
  2. Promoting access to better and quality Education to the most vulnerable children (MVCs)Orphans Vulnerable Children (OVCs), Girls, and people with disabilities.
  3. Support and promote vocational education in the country.
  4. Promote environmental conservation, protection, and management of eco-system and biodiversity.
  5. Promote and strengthen women’s leadership, both as a goal in itself and to ensure that women’s concerns are priorities in negotiations with stakeholders
  6. Encourage the Development of policies and practices which contribute to the ending of discrimination against women.
  7. To use sports and creative arts as an effective medium for social change.
  8. Working diligently to educate the youth about the source, effect, and prevention of drug abuse, STDS including HIV/AIDS, and provide support and counseling for those who are addicted to drugs STDs, and HIV/AIDS-infected persons.
